Where is Southwick?

Southwick , West Sussex, lies on the South Coast of England about 4 miles west of Brighton. Its origins are a combination of a fishing village and a farming community. The River Adur flows out to sea at the boundary between Southwick and Shoreham-by-Sea and its estuary has become Shoreham Harbour- even though most of the harbour is in Southwick!

A Southwick Century tells the memories of one person who has lived in the town for a hundred years and it gives a fascinating insight into a period of more change and development than in any previous century.

Below are a modern map and satellite view of Southwick, and a town map of 1907
